Here is the first piece of concept art that I have produced for the level. It was created using Maya and Photoshop. The buildings were modelled in Maya, textured in Photoshop, rendered in Maya and then exported back into Photoshop. The light and colour effects were added in Photoshop and this piece took roughly 3-4 hours to complete. The main aim with this piece was to emphasis that the level will take place in a vibrantly lit, futuristic city . . .
Next I will focus on creating concept art for the level's streets and building interiors. I will be concentrating on the point of view that the player will witness in the level as this first piece is a bit distant from where the action would take place.

FMPA1 - Light Pollution
For my Final Major Project of my degree in Games Art and Design I will be designing and producing a single player level for play with Half Life 2. 'Light Pollution' is the working title for the level which will feature a vibrantly lit, futuristic city as it's environment. The city will feature many futuristic looking buildings and structures, clean scenery and the presence of palm trees will indicate that the city is situated in a tropical climate.
There will, of course, be a lot of design work involved in envisioning this paradisaical metropolis before the actual level can be built and made fully playable using Valve Software's Hammer Editor.
*Concept Artwork for 'Light Pollution' will be posted soon*
